Counselling

Although psychotherapy and counselling are closely related, they are distinct practices. Psychotherapy focuses on assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions. Counselling, by contrast, emphasizes providing information, guidance, encouragement, and support for emotional, social, educational, spiritual, and belief-related concerns. Spiritual counselling specifically addresses matters connected to a person’s faith or belief system.

As a biblically based counsellor, my approach emphasizes forward-looking growth: prevention, learning, and the transformation of self and worldviews. Built on relationship, I act as a peer, guide, and facilitator—helping individuals see the world differently and fostering change in how they understand themselves and their surroundings.

Although David's specialty is first responders and trauma, counselling is available to anyone who may be struggling due to life events.

Chaplain

Our Chaplain services are Christian, Protestant-based, and non-denominational. A Chaplain acts in a multifaceted role that provides mental, spiritual, and emotional support to both first responders and the individuals affected by emergencies or crises, before, during, and after, whether acute or chronic, contributing to the overall well-being and resilience of people and communities when faced with adversity.

David is available in the Espanola ON and North Shore area for all First Responders.
