Change

Changing your Mind - Online For groups of First Responders

The research this course is based on suggests a reflective practice could be a contributing factor to being resilient to paramedic occupational stressors. Where other courses focus on teaching how to manage, and cope with, the effects of the critical stressors (very important skills), this course differs in that it teaches individuals how to cognitively process critical stressors; to learn how to see the world in a different way; to change your mind, in an effort to mitigate stress reactions.

The author and facilitator of this training program, David Wolff, has over 30 years of paramedic experience where much non-formal/informal learning and research occurred throughout his personal journey. Mr Wolff had the opportunity to leverage that experience and conduct formal research in a postgraduate university program. This course is based on Mr. Wolff's Master's program research project that was conducted for partial fulfilment for the degree of Master of Adult Education, St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

This course is designed for groups of new or preservice paramedics. Contact us for more information on how to access this course for your group.
